The McMillin 500 Off-Road Race is ready
for San Felipe. The CODE Serial main off road race will
not suffer any modifications, since the ejidatarios have
approved its course through their property in San Felipe.
Joaquin Rodriguez, CODE director, informed
that the course for the McMillin 500 Off Road Race is
ready, after negotiations with San Felipe's ejidatarios
who agreed the race course to go through their land.
After the cancelation of the Score International
Baja 250 in San Felipe, CODE directors began negotiations
with the ejidatarios, who agreed that they have never
had any problems with the Desert Racers Organization since
they have always upheld their mandates, one of which is
to repair the damage the race cars cause to their parcels.
"The negotiations with the ejido authorities
went on for more than a month. We had the help of the
Committee of Tourism and Conventions (Cotuco), and thanks
to their support the race will be held and San Felipe
will benefit economically," added Joaquin Rodriguez.
With the race course secured for next Wednesday,
March 21st, the drawing will be held in Mexicali to set
the starting places for each category
Starting March 24, the race course trial runs will
start. That is the date when the track will be duly traced.
The race will start at Mexicali's kilometer 29 of the
Tijuana road and will follow to San Felipe and return
to the finish line at Mexicali's Laguna Salada.
The race, featuring Andy McMillin and probably Gustavo
Vildosola, will start March 30 with mechanical trials,
and the race will be run on the 31st and will end April
1st with the awards ceremony. The race has the support
of the San Felipe Municipal Delegation and the Red Cross
in case of any eventuality.

La carrera más fuerte del Serial CODE no tendrá
ninguna modificación, ya que los ejidatarios aprobaron
que la competencia pase por sus terrenos en San Felipe.
La carrera fuera de camino McMillin 500 ya tiene la ruta
por la que pasará, así lo informó
Joaquín Rodríguez, director administrativo
de CODE. Luego de que las negociaciones con los ejidatarios
de San Felipe llegaran a buen término, éstos
autorizaron que la carrera pasara por sus terrenos.
Y es que luego de la cancelación de la Baja 250
de Score International en San Felipe, los directivos de
CODE se dieron a la tarea de lograr los acuerdos con los
ejidatarios, a lo que éstos accedieron argumentando
que en el caso de de la organización Corredores
del Desierto no se ha tenido ningún problema y
estos siempre han cumplido lo estipulado, uno de los acuerdos
es reparar el terreno dañado por los autos que
pasan por las parcelas.
“Las negociaciones duraron más de un mes
con las autoridades ejidales, donde se contó con
el apoyo de Cotuco (Comité de Turismo y Convenciones),
a las cuales agradecemos, ya que mostraron su apoyo para
la realización de la carrera, y a San Felipe con
la derrama económica”, comentó Joaquín
Rodríguez.
Ya con la pista asegurada, el próximo miércoles
21 de marzo se realizará el sorteo en un bar y
billar de Justo Sierra, donde se definirán los
lugares de salida de cada categoría.
A partir del 24 de marzo se empezará a recorrer
la pista, ya que hasta esa fecha estará debidamente
marcada, la carrera iniciará en Mexicali en el
kilómetro 29 de la carretera Tijuana, llegará
a San Felipe y regresará a la laguna Salada, donde
estará la meta.
La carrera en la que participará Andy McMillin
y posiblemente Gustavo Vildósola, iniciará
a partir del 30 de marzo con la revisión mecánica,
el 31 de marzo y 1 de abril se llevará a cabo la
competencia, premiando el mismo 1 de abril.28
Para la carrera ya se tiene el apoyo de la Delegación
Municipal de San Felipe y de la Cruz Roja, para cualquier
contratiempo en la competencia.
