7th Annual Club De Pesca
International Chili Cookoff
By Joseph Malek
I don’t know about you but I’m getting ready for the hottest event of the year. I have got the biggest, baddest, bag of bragging rights and the coolest custom trophies to award to the best chili cookoff teams that choose to compete in this years International Chili Cookoff hosted by Club De Pesca. Dare to take up this challenge by entering your best pot of chili and your team. Sign-ups and entry fees are being taken now (and don’t worry, all necessary napkins, tasting cups, and spoons will be supplied by the event organizers).
The International Chili Cookoff hosted by Club De Pesca R.V. Park will be held Saturday May 2, 2009 from 1 to 5 pm in San Felipe, B.C. M.X. Your hosts; Pancho and Jorge are pulling out all the stops on this year’s event. Hired back by popular demand to provide musical entertainment is Jim Moore and the Agave Blues Band, also available will be a no-host bar (known for hand poured awesome margaritas), and a Club De Pesca tradition: perfectly grilled all beef franks offered with all the right stuff (cheddar cheese, onions, relish, tomatoes, ketchup. mustard and mayo). And you have got to see the beautifully redesigned Chili Cookoff Tee-Shirts and apparel incorporating original artwork by local artist Steve Sullivan.
To round out this years International Chili Cookoff and to relieve any guilt about coming down and having a fantastically groovy time, we will be promoting awareness and taking direct donations for F.A.M.A., the sole women’s rehabilitation center in San Felipe.
The host’s and the organizers of this International Chili Cookoff at Club De Pesca throw one heck of a block buster event, and as always chili tasting is free to the public, so consider contributing generously on the day of the Chili Cookoff to help meet the needs of F.A.M.A.
Sign-up and enter your Chili Team NOW. Chili Cookoff tee-shirts, tank tops, spaghetti straps for the ladies and aprons are soon for sale at Club De Pesca. For sign-up information or questions, contact Joseph Malek (cell) 686-233-5206 or Elayne Caldwell, 577-2649, or e-mail her at caldes@prodigy.net
