Naval Pilots Visit

San Felipe, Baja, Mexico

SAN FELIPE, BC - May 15,2011
Many of you may have wondered about the small flock of yellow planes that combed the air above town during the past weekend.

The spectacle was part of a training program for military pilots, as the group of instructors and cadets from the Naval School of Aviation in La Paz flew over and visited the port of San Felipe.

This current generation of students, the XXXVII of Naval Aviation School of the Secretary of the Navy of Mexico, were enjoying a field trip during the last phase of their current courses to become naval pilots.

Four captains and 13 trainees from the aviation school enjoyed a brief respite in San Felipe before continuing on with their program, which began the 1st of May and ends on July 1.

It was reported that the Naval Aviation School cadets were training to be officers of the General Corps and Marine graduates of the Heroic Naval Military School. These future pilots are striving to acquire technical expertise and master the tactical flight skills used in aircraft operations by the Navy of Mexico.
