With a path that starts at Altamia Beach, in the village of New Rosarito, and finishes in Bahia de Los Angeles, the aim of 'Camping Baja' is to wet your heels in the Pacific Ocean and dry your toes beside the Sea of Cortez. .

The seven day journey begins on 5 December and arrives at the Bay of Los Angeles on the12th.

Registrations are open now and close on October 31. Those interested can register on Facebook's "Baja Camping" page, at a cost of a thousand pesos.

During the trip all registrants should bring their owns group support as well as their food and equipment.

Upon arrival at Bahia de los Angeles, each person is responsible for his or her own return journey.

Eduardo de la Peña Sánchez (Tijuana Jones), organizer of the tour, disclosed that so far there are 25 confirmed campers from Queretaro, Guadalajara and Mexico City.

The organizer said that throughout the journey, they would be passing through iconic Baja California scenery, including cave paintings and the route of the Mission of San Borja.

De la Peña stated that the Baja Camping Trip has been in operation since 2001 and said that its purpose was to promote the beauty of Baja California and ecotourism.

He also emphasized that such activities help the youth to become self-sufficient.
