The San Felipe Cancer
Walk queued over three hundred sponsored people along the sidewalks of
town this morning. The event was considered a great success and raised
over $15,000 for the eternal battle against cancer. A well-organized wrap
party found the participants enjoying music, food and drinks, folkloric
dancing, and a silent auction in the early afternoon.
There will be a committee appointed which will be responsible for the
disbursement of the money raised by the walk, addressing the cancer-related
needs of the community. Representatives from the Rotary Club, SFARP, Las
Amigas, a community member and a local physician will comprise the committee.
Next year's Cancer Walk is slated to occur on March 22nd, 2008.
