 Club
Las Amigas of San Felipe, Baja, Mexico is
registered with the Mexican Government and
is a non-profit organization. Our main purpose is
to fund five-year scholarships for striving students
who are financially unable to attend college. Since
our founding in 1986, 33 students have graduated
and more than 30 students are in college through
Las Amigas scholarships at this time.
All work done by members or board members is strictly
on a volunteer basis, and no members are paid for
their services. |
MAKE A 30-DAY MIRACLE!
We need a few donations to help boost the
amount of scholarship money available in mid'April
when we review the applications.
Even contributing $1.00 (or more) will help.
Especially if you then pass this appeal on to friends
who have caring hearts and ask them to forward it by email
to some of their friends. WE CAN MAKE A MIRACLE IN 30
DAYS! Your generosity can change lives.
During the next 30 day period (today is
March 8, 2006), you can help by doing the following:

- Copy and paste this appeal into an email and send
it to everyone on your mailing list. Under Subject,
type in "Make A 30 Day MIRACLE". Even if you
can't donate something, could you please forward it
on so the circle of recipients becomes "miraculous"?
- If you can afford at least $1.00 for a worthwhile
cause, please make your check payable to Las Amigas
Club and mail to the following address:

- Please don't mail cash! The cut-off MAILING date
for this fund-raising request is Monday, April 10, 2006.
We'll be reviewing the applications a little later in
April and awarding the scholarships to students at that
time.
- If you want to hear about the final results of everyone's
help, please include your email address when you send
a payment. We'll be happy to send you an email with
how much money was raised during the year for the 2006

Las Amigas
'Clean Out' Sale
Only 20 pesos for a big bag full
of clothes and shoes. If you know anybody who would enjoy
rummaging for some great bargains, please ask them to
come on over. It will be from 9 to 12, this coming Saturday,
May 6 at the town zocalo (park), across from the fire
station.
The Las Amigas meet at "The
Lodge" at Campo Ocotillo, the 2nd and 4th Wednesday
of each month, from October through May. Meeting time
starts at 10 a.m. and is usually over just before noon.
